TYPICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF 3K CARBON FIBER
3K carbon fiber (3,000 filaments per tow) is known for its lightweight, flexible, and visually appealing qualities. It offers a smooth finish, making it ideal for applications where aesthetics and performance are key, such as in luxury automotive interiors, consumer electronics, aerospace, UAV components, and high-end sporting goods. 3K carbon fiber, particularly in Twill 2X2 weave, is commonly used in processes like vacuum bagging, resin infusion, hand lamination and wet layup, exhibiting a balance of strength and flexibility, making it perfect for lightweight, high-performance applications.

The number of 3K carbon fiber layers used depends on the application's requirements. For cosmetic purposes, 1 to 2 layers are usually sufficient, while structural applications may need more layers for added strength and stiffness. In general, 3K carbon fiber fabrics can be applied in multiple layers or as a surface layer on heavier fabrics, usually 12K. Testing and adjusting the number and type of layers based on performance needs, is essential for optimal results.
